At the beginning of March, we traveled to Honduras with a new coffee buying partner List + Beisler. We traveled from San Pedro Sula to the coffee growing region of Marcala in search of what we hoped would be some of the best tasting coffee in Honduras. We met with so many passionate coffee producers along the way, tasting over 30 different coffees from 5 co-ops. There were 2 coffees that we simply needed to have.
We are releasing these 2 coffees back-to-back. First up, is Mujeres de Santa Elena, a coffee produced by a small group of Lenca women from the area of Santa Elena. These women have an impressive coffee culture, and deeply rooted customs. This coffee is grown using biodynamic farming practices which makes this coffee organic. The coffee is grown in a wonderful climate surrounded by beautiful mountains, rivers, and indigenous birds.
